Talulah R.M. (b.1999) lives and works in Hollywood, CA. Their work investigates the ways in which truth is constructed. Through sculptural intervention, R.M. chases a politics of fluidity and transformation. They experiment with casting techniques as a transformational gesture. R.M.’s work often involves the removal of fixtures from a gallery space, which are then replaced with cast replicas. R.M. preferences less accurate casts, and strategically reproduces objects in materials oppositional to their original. By sewing some subtle discordance in the assumption of accuracy that is embedded in the process of casting, they hope that the viewer might begin to wonder about contexts of the object or space that weren’t obvious before, carving out room for imagination and potentiality.

R.M. graduated from Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2023 with a BFA in Sculpture, and continues their studies at School for Poetic Computation. Their work has been featured by LVL3 (Chicago, IL), Weatherproof (Chicago, IL), Night Club (Minneapolis, MN). Their debut solo exhibition, Quicksilver, opened in June 2023 at Waiting Room (Minneapolis, MN) sponsored by Midway Contemporary’s Visual Arts Fund and the Andy Warhol Foundation.
